The Georgia Senate Athletic Association Study Committee was created through the passage of Senate Resolution 304. The purpose of the committee is to evaluate the transparency, accessibility, and diversity of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA).
Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan appointed five Senators to serve on this committee, to be chaired by Senator Bruce Thompson. Chairman Thompson is tasked with identifying and evaluating flaws of the current process surrounding GHSA. The committee will engage with parents, students, GHSA representatives, and school personnel to gather insight from all stakeholders.
Take the time to learn more about the members of this committee. Chairman Bruce Thompson encourages your engagement with the committee's work.
"The Georgia High School Association should be transparent when it comes to how they spend any funding they receive. Because our students and school personnel are directly affected by the decisions made by the association, these individuals should be a part of the conversation, which will be a point of discussion in this study committee." – Chairman Bruce Thompson
